Gwerdy Chat

Gwerdy Chat is a chat program developed in Multimedia Fusion 2 by Andrew Mather. It is widely used for support and communication between community members. The server is hosted by Jeff Vance. It has a quote log called Clickquote.

Chat Commands
Type-in Commands
Text between a < and > indicates a required parameter. Text between a ( or ) indicates the parameter is optional. Parameters are separated by spaces.
All Users
- /away (reason) – Toggles your away status, with optional reason.
- /beep – Toggles the playing of a sound if your name is mentioned.
- /clear - Clear the channels text window.
- /close - Closes the current window.
- /close all – Close all the windows, server connection maintained.
- /cred - Displays the software’s about box.
- /dis - Disconnects from the server keeping all the windows open.
- /exit - Ends the program.
- /game <name> (channel) – Launches a game, other users are informed.
- /help – Displays the in-program help window. (Same as pressing F1)
- /idle (username) - Sends an idle request to a user <or all users>
- /jml - Toggles join and leave messages on/off.
- /localtime <username> - Find out the local time for a user.
- /me <something> - Says something as an action in purple!
- /ping (username) - Sends a ping request to a user <or all users>
- /pm <username> <message> - Sends a private message to a user.
- /quit - Quit the current channel but leave the window open.
- /restart - Restarts the whole program.
- /say <something> - Same as just typing something.
- /save (filename) - Saves log of the channel chat window to a file.
- /sgame <name> (channel) – Launches a game without telling other users
- /time - Toggles time stamping on and off.
- /top – Toggles the program window being always on top of other windows.
- /ver (username) - Sends an version request to a user <or all users>
- /whisper <username> <message> - Same as /pm for the moment.
- /ignore (username) - Toggle ignoring whisper messages from a user
- /pin - Toggle pinning the window to the desktop
Admin / Moderators
The following commands work for moderators and administrators. Some can only be performed on people of the same level or lower than you!
- /apm <something> - Sends a message only moderators and admins can see.
- /boot <username> (reason) - Boots the user off the server, reason is optional.
- /kick <username> - Kicks the user out the current channel but not off the server.
- /ip (username) – Display the IP address of a user <or all users>
- /ips – Toggles the display of IP address when a user enters or leaves a channel.
- /silent – Toggles silent mode on the current channel.
- /mute <unsername> – Mute a user, applies to all channels.
- /unmute <username> - Unmute a user.
- /voice <username> - Toggles a basic user between upgraded user status.
- /unvoice <username> - Toggles a basic user between upgraded user status.
